Primary Objective

  • Negotiate and manage farmouts, leases, rights-of-way, joint ventures and other types of oil and gas agreements
  • Monitor drilling rig program from a land standpoint based on lease expirations and continuous development obligations
  • Coordinate and manage land brokers on leasing, title preparation, title curative, and due diligence
  • Coordinate with title attorneys in the preparation of Drilling/Division Order Title Opinions
  • Work with land analyst in preparation of JIB decks and title curative review
  • Advise management on potential acquisitions and/or trades in the area of responsibility
  • Coordinate with various local and state regulatory bodies and agencies, municipalities and other governmental agencies having jurisdiction in Texas as required to support project requirements

Requirements

  • In-House landman for minimum of 3 years is required
  • Texas experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred (Petroleum Land Management/Energy Management)
  • RPL or CPL certification preferred
